Machinations on a Monday

Got to the gym yesterday and then took youngest daughter to the pool. Stay busy and get in that sun.

We felt like a cigar and wine last night, but the weather wouldn't cooperate. Which is for the best. Those things are bad for you.

We're doing almost nothing on Twitter. No motivation at all. Maybe it's time to delete. We ain't doing much on Gab, either.

Yes, that LIV golf tournament is ten minutes from here at Trump National. We know nothing. Saudi's? Who cares? Do the math. That's like someone complaining about Japanese cars in 1962.

We feel like we're in pretty good shape for some nuclear ju-ju this week. Or at least today. We'll be writing scenes about towns dealing with people, locals, squatters, whatever. Let's start with Alexandria, Virginia. It would have been flattened in the war, but the George Washington Masonic Temple is/was on a hill just outside of Old Town, and you'd be able to see into DC from the peak. We know. We used to drive past it every day.

So we've been thinking about our little space war thingy. The scenario would be roughly analogous to 1914 Europe.

The Good Guys are the Brits. They have one star system packed with habitable planets. They also have several Commonwealth star systems, some of them quite far away. The Good Guys are first among equals.

Oh, there's another star system that used to be part of this commonwealth but broke away a century before. It's a rising power, but more or less friendly to the Good Guys.

There's a France, there's a Japan, also a rising power.

The Bad Guys don't necessarily have to be the Germans. Maybe they're the Russians.

The war is entering its third year with neither side making progress. The good guys just lost a battle though, one of the reasons they're planning this raid on the Bad Guy's logistics.

Monday Metal...Youngest Daughter was drawing and coloring yesterday and listening to AC/DC. Couldn't be happier. Here's some AC/DC. Of all AC/DC's songs, we think this is the funnest. Bagpipes, man:

Monday (non) Metal, supplemental. Here's a pic of New Jersey's newly renamed rest stop:

Better than Springsteen.
