Today, all MAGAs are Jews

Last day at the beach. Remember, we're in the Northeast and already the humidity is coming out of the air. Autumn's approaching and usually hits before the 21st. We'll be heading home this evening.

Replace Maga with Jew and you'll understand what Joe was doing last night. Dems lapped it up but no one else will. 38% approval rating, Joe. We aren't consoling ourselves with the fact the Joe's little rant was a rhetorical and aesthetic disaster. The hammer is coming.

These are not the actions, this is not the speech, of a regime that believes it's winning. We stand by our predictions for this fall, a red wave, not a red wedding, with the GOP taking both houses. Will it matter when you have a president using fascist imagery?

Stay calm. Keep your wits about you. And remember that anyone advocating violence is a Fed.

Exit question: is it time for us to breakout our MAGA cap?

We've been lamenting that we haven't had any side gigs going for the last six weeks. That's more or less by choice. We haven't felt much buzz for 1945 and we really don't want to write, Pete Alonso must stay hot for Mets to get to the World Series, for Rising Apple. But maybe this is a good thing. Maybe it's time we hunker down and focus on novels.

Doing so would be changing the way we've worked for nye on 20 years. But maybe it's time for that change. We're in our 50th year now, and we find ourselves thinking about that a lot lately. We've checked the math and in ten years we'll be in our 60th year (if we make it). What do we want the next ten years to be like? That goes for a lot of subjects to be honest, writing, exercise, food...

We've written side gigs mostly for ego purposes, just to say to ourselves and others, 'Look where we published!' But why continue looking for new places at this point in our career? What haven't we established about ourselves as an author and writer? We are among the best there is at what we do.
