Saturday Updates

Mrs. Stroock and I made the strategic decision to leave Beach Haven Friday night rather than Saturday morning. Like most good ideas had around here, this idea was Mrs. Stroock's. And so we're back after a great week, tanned, exercised (all that back and forth to the beach, time in the water, etc) and ready.

Once again the Stroock family spent the week at Seaplace Condominium's, 20 Amber Street, Beach Haven, Long Beach Island. For those interested here's a description with pics. If you Google Street view Sea Place, you'll see a figure standing at the right end of the pool. That's me. The Stroock's have been renting at Seaplace since 1980, we kid you not. We won't get all sentimental about Sea Place except to say that it's home.

Summer is almost over, both officially and unofficially. Last night there was a tad of autumn cool in the air. The girls start school on Wednesday. After all these years we still feel just a bit down about the end of summer. When we were a kid we used to get fantastically depressed, missing the weeks and months that had just passed. We diagnosed ourselves with 'Post-Summer Depression'. We've been dealing with depression issues for a long time.

The things.

We didn't get as much done as we had hoped. Oh well.

Alert reader(s) will notice we updated the Future Projects page.

The New American Order has run out of steam. 66,000 words. We still plan to finish the rough on 21 September.

We read through World War 1990: The Final Storm's Soviet intro chapter and it's looking pretty good. We might add a Kremlin Regiment character. The opportunity is there and after all, they'll be getting a visit. Here's a tour of the Kremlin, including a talk with soldiers of the Kremlin Regiment, hosted by the lovely Sophie Shevardnadze.*This morning we pronounce ourselves enthused. We struck the Battle of the Roki Tunnell chapter but are going to try to put it back in [She'll be very disappointed-Ed] oh shut up you Liverpudlian wench.

World War 1990: The Weser has 100 reviews 4.4 stars.

We've heard back from two more Aftermath of 1976 readers, both American and North American. The book is looking good. We think we'll pass it on this week.

*If you don't think she's an absolute babe, we don't want you reading this blog.
