About 3 PM, Mrs. Stroock shouted from her office, 'Uhhh...they've upgraded to a hurricane.' By 4 PM we made the call. We've got some disappointed and/or pissed off children, and parents. Mrs. Stroock was looking forward to some time off. We were not at all prepared to do any work this week. But our sweet, corporate go-getter wife sprung into action and within three hours we were re-booked for the day after Thanksgiving.
What Will's Watching I: Trump rally. Trump started off strong last night but quickly faded. The man is terminally unable to focus. We changed the channel, put the girls to bed, came back an hour later and Trump was still going. We'll say this for the man, he has stamina. We got back just in time to hear Trump say he had a big announcement to make on November 15th. Hopefully he's announcing he's not running. What can we say, the thrill is gone. 2/4
What Will's Watching II. Andor. We are stunned at how good this show is. Andor is a drama. Star Wars for grownups. And each episode is a little better than the last. Episode six, a heist/commando raid, was especially well done and shot at a dam in Scotland. Current/future directors, see what on location shots and practical effects can do? 3/4 overall and 4/4 for episode 6.
We've been speculating that our increased Twitter activity has resulted in sales spikes. Maybe? We've been looking at our sales record and see the same spikes pre-Twitter. There is no evidence that Twitter activity is leading to increased sales. Maybe a bit with Israel Strikes. The evidence supports no conclusions.
In the meantime we've been doing some admin work on The Aftermath of 1976. The cover is approved and a pair of proofs ordered. One will be going to the final proofer. We'll post the cover tomorrow.
Stroock's Books made its election predictions yesterday and stand by them. We had planned to be at Disney World tonight, goddamn it. We plan and....well, you know. We're gonna find something to do. Don't know what. We weren't going to post anything about the election of FB, because we didn't want to be the kind of guy who goes Disney with his family and posts on politics on FB. But since we're not at Disney...
