January's First Saturday Update

Good Saturday, Stroock's Books continuum.

We spent yesterday afternoon going through our closet. We junked four suits and a dozen pairs of dress pants and still feel like we have more work to do. It's a start. We found an olive drab wool sweater we loved in the mid-2000s but thought we tossed a decade ago. We found a pair of shoes, still in the box with the receipt, which read 2017. Mrs. Stroock not pleased.

The other day on our walk, our commie friend asked us what we thought about the Ukraine War. We said we think Putin is biding time, letting the Wagner Group do his fighting while he consolidates and revamps the Ruski military for a spring offensive. We still believe that when this war ends, all the fanboys with Ukrainian flags in their bios are going to be really disappointed.

We have a month of sales data for The Aftermath of 1976 (the light blue bar. The Great Nuclear War of 1975 is the yellow bar. World War 1990: The Weser is red).

Kindle Unlimited reads:

Kindle sales:

We are overall pleased. We expect January to be 76's peak month. I tell yuh, that back list (everything but 75, 76 and The Weser) is really selling, accounting for about 40% of sales. Writing books and building that list has always been our best strategy.

As always we seek to expand. We looked into getting our books translated. We found rates from between 8 and 25 cents a word. Yeah, no. We might take another look at advertising.

The things.

We can think of a couple of paragraphs we could add to The New American Order's future history chapter, and maybe a sentence of details here and there. But we're done. Overall, we just don't see much we can add to TNAO. Unless readers are wondering, 'Hey, what about that guy in south Georgia?' I dunno. TNAO is 75,000 words.

We got one comment so far on The New American Order's future history chapter. Yeah....we didn't want a necessarily happy ending. How about some more feedback? This is a symbiotic relationship, people. Exit question: you people want me to do more talkies, ruminations, etc?

We did some light work on World War 1990: The Final Storm. It's coming along, we guess.

Research continues on World War 1990: Norway. We have the broad outline, but as yet have no idea what's within that outline. We mean the physical chapters and parts. What's happening? We still plan to begin 1 February. We have a Norwegian consultant.

We'll be working on another 19FortyFive article next week. They like us. The readership here is going to love the topic. It's not political. Or at least it's not about Kevin McCarthy and the useless GOP.

We feel some stirrings and percolations in the imagination. We'll discuss these tomorrow in Will's Good Idea for the Week of 1/8/23.

Alert reader(s) will notice we've updated the Future Projects page. Now excuse use while we go to that page to jar our memory as to our updates.

  1. Yes I would love more talkies and maybe to grow new readers have something on YouTube explaining the lore of worl war 1990 might get some more people who never heard of you interested as on the final chapter I think you went to negative while I don't think after a nuclear war everything would be rosesbur the American people have always looking the brighter sides of things even in our darkest hours we always have a sense of hope and the future will be better
