Saturday Updates

We totally mailed in yesterday's post. It was, like, 2:30 on a Friday, and just like you working stiffs, we were tired and our mind was elsewhere. We had nothing left to say.

Mrs. Stroock will be heading down to Philadelphia Sunday afternoon for a REDACTED business conference. We'll try not to torch the house when she's gone. Seriously, one time she left us and two minutes after she's out the door we had to call her and ask where the band aides were.

We started episode 3 of The Mandalorian the other day and turned it off. JFC, can Disney do anything right? Who killed Star Wars? Women. Women killed Star Wars. Kathleen Kennedy, I reach out with the force and smite thee.

The Things.

Or thing, really, as there's only one thing, World War 1990: The Final Storm.

That thing is going delightfully. We spent all week working on the SAS raid and have made great progress. Lots of details have been sorted out. We finally named one member of the flamethrower team and made him a childhood pyro, which is semi-autobiographical [Oh, surprise-Ed]. Meet Terry, he really likes flamethrowers.

We also worked on several, 'Something strange on the telly, love' and 'The bastards pushed the button' scenes. We might add a few more, if they're relevant. Maybe a scene in New York City where riots break out? Not a bad idea and it could set the stage for the nation's bad postwar vibes we intend to write about in future novels. But from whose POV do we see this? About the best we can do is the bartender at the Algonquin from Arctic Storm. That was a great scene, by the way.*

Once again for the first time in months we feel good about TFS.

Okay, two things. We received the edited proof of The New American Order, approved everything and sent it back for formatting. TNAO is still on track for 1 May, barely.

*Al Sharpton organizes an anti-Russian pogrom?
