Pointless Nostalgia Week: a Twofer

In Israel, the government has passed a new budget which includes millions in grants and subsidies to the Haredi, who are still not required to serve in the military or work. We don't like these people. Too bad the centrist Blue and Whites couldn't get their act together. The Judicial overhaul bill continues apace as does the Color Revolution opposed to it. Let's call it Bibi's last bash.

We get advertisements from a wargame seller, Noble Knight Games. Behold:

See that Strategy & Tactics Magazine on the far right? We wrote the lead article, Marlborough and his Art of War, 20 years ago this summer. Oh look, we did a 2003 and Me. It's odd seeing the magazine like that. We've owned four of the games being advertised there - 1,3,4 and 8. By the way, don't ever visit Noble Knight games unless you want to be ceaselessly bombarded by their ads.

1993 and Me: We can't emphasize this enough, 1993 was our last carefree summer, the last summer of our old life; whatever the thing we were doing + TV, the Yankees (they were finally getting good again, reading a book at night, etc. This was the summer A Few Good Men was on all the time. It took us a few weeks to land a job. We ended up lifeguarding at a Girl Scout camp in Duchess County and a city pool in Peekskill. Nice, carefree work.
