Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/11/23

Last night at our synagogue's 100th anniversary gala we danced with three blondes and their mother. We ate far too much and had a lovely time. Girls delighted to be dressed to kill and out on the town. We awake tired and sore.

A pleasant surprise this morning as we awake to see five-star reviews for Pershing in Command and A March Through Hell

We are about to begin our examination of the War Between the State's eastern Tennessee and Atlanta campaigns. Wish us luck.

A few observations on the Ukrainian counteroffensive. The Ukes are attacking in many areas at once. These attacks are scattered and not concentrated. The Ukes have made some penetrations of Russian lines. They have taken heavy casualties and equipment loses. We've all seen the pics of burnt-out Leopards and Bradleys. The Russians are making good use of cheap suicide drones against all types of vehicles. This is an interesting development. Here's an assessment from Russian mil-bloggers Russians with Attitude. Interesting, but watch with caution. So far, this is no blitzkrieg.

Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/11/23. As previously reported, the Battle of Lyngyen Fjord is coming along splendidly. Plenty of action, detail and character. Also ship to shore gunnery action. To accompany the Lyngyen Fjord chapter we are developing a battalion level Soviet VDV assault on a Norwegian target, reminiscent of the Pegasus Bridge attack in The Longest Day. We're not sure about the target, yet. Tomorrow, we think, we'll do a write up on the Soviet attack plan for Northern Norway.
