Will Checks in on Valhalla

We picked up the girls and Mrs. Stroock and all is well and normal again. We're gonna have a great week.

A few political observations. For the first time we think Trump can win (three in a row!). Not saying he will. We just think it's possible. Also, Powerline has a great post about DeSantis, polls, media coverage, with which we agree completely. For the love of Kek [still doing Kek? This ain't 2016-Ed] it's July. Powerline points out that this time in the 2008 race, the press proclaimed John McCain (wonder what he thinks of all this, you know, down there) was dead in the water. In 1992, the press thought Bill Clinton was a goner going into New Hampshire. And we wouldn't be the first to point out that Joe and Son are getting a lot of bad press lately, a LOT, almost as if the press is laying the groundwork for something. So yeah, no. Fuck all if we know what's going to happen, but don't tell us what's gonna happen. Because nobody knows nuthin'.

This week we'll be cleaning up odds and ends in World War 1990: The Final Storm. We won't be taking a hardcopy up to the Stroock Northern Strategic Direction next week. We'll read the hardcopy amongst our books here in New Jersey to make changes and add details as soon as we see the need. That will come first week in August. Or will it? Hmmmm....[Oh look, you're being an indecisive nancy again-Ed]. And that will be about it.

This week we'll be working the Tromso chapter in World War 1990: Norway. This is a very Soviet centric chapter in which one of the main characters is a Soviet VDV battalion commander who lost an eye in Afghanistan. 'She think's my eyepatch is sexy,' he says of his wife.* Exit question, should we introduce the man in chapter three, or whatever chapter that is, or thread him through the previous chapters?

Yeah, the Ruskis are basically gonna drop a VDV battalion and its equipment right on the Tromso airbase and hope for the best. They'll send reinforcements to occupy the town and two bridges leading off the island.  This battalion is part of General Alexander Lebed's 76th Guard's Airborne Division, so there will be plenty of Lebed, too. We spent all morning confirming that they jumped out of Il-76 jets as well as AN-12 propeller aircraft. I got video, MF.

Monday Metal: Happy Birthday Ronnie James Dio, metal god, who is enjoying Valhalla. Remember, if you listen to fools, the Mob Rules.
