No, our joining Threads isn't serious. We keep our Twitter account, and our burner Twitter account, for reading things and for some light tweeting, and because we know a few people there. And we've been on Gab for eight years now, where we have 483 followers. Wonder what that converts to in Twitter numbers. Several thousand is our guess. On Gab we're in an Israel group, a Metal group, a Russia group and a Confederate group, among others. Speak freely.
We've done some new book reviews on Good Reads. As reader(s) can tell, we've made a lot of progress on the War Between the States.
The Z Man has an interesting and cogent analysis of the Ukraine War, comparing Russian strategy to the Union's Anaconda Plan, and the Uke's counteroffensive to the Battle of Kursk. He also talks a lot about attrition. Now there's a term and strategy avoided for the last century, no? We urge reader(s) to click on through.
The Ukes were clearly hoping for a dramatic breakthrough to support The Narrative and didn't get one. We've noticed lately a subtle shift, a new Narrative developing. Ukranian assets in the media have been saying the counteroffensive will take a long time. Some have said these tiny bites the Ukes are taking are part of the plan. Sorry, yeah, no. That's not how one uses massed armor/mechanized formations. That's not what they're for. Exit question: we hear a lot of talk about Russian nukes, but why would they use nukes at this point?
