We had excellent back to back workout days, one at the pool, one at the gym. And at the gym we hit the scale for the first time in...many, many weeks. The scale said 244. We didn't believe it, so we got on the other scale. It said 243. We actually complained to the owner, who laughed along with us. We admit to feeling a bit more svelte in recent weeks, with better fitting clothes. But we're still surprised. Let's do this, 239 by the end of the year.
We have an appointment with our cardiologist today, the one who eight years ago put a line up our arm to our heart and said, '95% blockage.'

We wondered if the Barbie craze would die down after a few weeks. Never predicted, just wondered. Barbie is a huge hit. Of course it is. Barbie is a massive brand with multi-generational appeal. The movie is a cultural event. All three of our girls have seen it. It's okay. Once again, we saw Animal House at an impressionable age and the only thing we ever imitated from Delta House was toga parties. Sometimes a movie is just a movie.
So our war with the telemarketers is going well. Just this morning we got called by one of those end-of-life expense outfits and we said we really need the insurance to cover funeral costs. 'In fact, the priest is here right now giving me last rights. Hey father Callahan, you wanna say hi!'
