25 (Twenty Five)

Why was our left ankle sore this morning after a slow walk around the block last night? Mother!@#$%!. For nearly two weeks we've sat around trying to let everything heal. That strategy has failed. Okay, okay, it's better this afternoon after getting up, moving around and stretching a bit.

Today is our 25th wedding anniversary. We were wed at the Dupont Country Club in Delaware. Boy was it hot. Never been back. You guys want some insights? After 25 years we're not sure we have anything interesting to say. We will quote a childhood friend's dad, 'The first ten years are the hardest.' At the time we thought that was nuts, but 25 year later, we know what he meant.

There was a time when we had planned to be in Israel for this anniversary, but events transpired (covid) and that grand plan was shelved. We'll make do with a quiet dinner tonight and hitting the beach on Saturday. Actually, many a year we celebrated our wedding anniversary at the beach. Is there a better way to celebrate 25 years than a family vacation?

We tried picking up a Civil War history book yesterday but got nuthin' out of it. Whatever shall we read at the beach? We'd love to continue our study of the War Between the States or start up a new subject. Right now the only juju we feel is for some research books, but we really don't want to sit at the beach reading about Canadian CF-5s and A7 Strike Fighters. We shall dwell upon this question.

Star Wars Ashoka is out. No. We couldn't care less.

We might actually watch the GOP debate tonight. We dunno.

We're skimming World War 1990: The Final Storm just to find things that need clarification, fact checking, etc. We were skeptical of our White House/Kremlin hotline details, but we checked 'em out. Yep. There was a room in the Pentagon with a fax going directly to a room believed to be in the Kremlin. The room was manned by an officer and a non-com. There was never a red phone to the Kremlin.
