Dispatches from the Jersey Shore, the 4th Day

The weather wasn't great yesterday, but we didn't get a deluge of rain. We got in some beach time, some pool time, and took the girls to the amusement park. Once more we enjoyed the evening and nighttime breeze. Today will be cloudy but with no rain. Things are going pretty well, considering.

We're tried reading the Civil War book we brought to the beach, but aren't feeling it. Not at all. We've read, we think, nine books about the War Between the States this spring and summer, with a deep dive on Jeff Davis and the Confederate government. Not bad.  It's time to move on. What reading project is next? We shall dwell upon this, come up with nothing, and then the spark will ignite.

Our groin pull says hello and introduced us to its distance cousin, elbow tendonitis. We were dismayed. But the elbow feels a lot better this morning. The more we think about it, the more we believe it's time to reimagine our workout regimen. We've not interest in going back to weights. We're thinking lots of calisthenics and tension bands. It worked for Tom Brady.

We'll be spending some intellectual time today thinking about Norway's ground counterattack chapter. This involves two thrusts, Marines against Bardufus and a Norwegian brigade up at the Froy Defense Line. We asked one of our tank people about RPGs vs M-60 tanks and he said, 'effective'. We think the scandis will make quick work of 17 Tank Brigade, but may be done in by Soviet air support. These could land at Banak, allowing us to do something interesting with the Norwegian Home Guard that bolted. Hmmm....

Bardufus creates a continuity problem in the overall World War 1990 narrative, as we have the SAS observing Bardufus in Arctic Storm, but never mention destroyed M60 tanks. Not a big deal, and who cares? But still. Arctic Storm was a long time ago. Anyone else remember the Norwegian man who found Romanov and brought him to the SAS? Maybe he makes a cameo.
