Based with just the right amount of Crazy

NFL: Last night Mrs. Stroock's Philadelphia Eagles managed a 21-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs had some critical pass drops late, and frankly, the Eagles had no business winning the game. Okay, the Eagle's defense was great in the second half. The Chiefs were unable to put the game away and the Eagles made them pay. There are no style points in football, and a win is a win. That's two lucky wins in a row for the Eagles, who are now 9-1. The Philadelphia Eagles are big, strong and tough. The Philadelphia Eagles are the class of the NFL.

Bridgewater in the news: 'The Somerset County prosecutor says that Lydia Pinto, 38, had a sexual relationship with a student when that student was between the ages of 14 and 15 years old.' Click through and reader(s) will see Pinto is cute enough. Read closely and reader(s) will see Pinto coached a couple of girls sports. So this isn't a hot for teacher situation. Exit question: why did this story break after so many years?

Israel: the Israelis have surrounded the Jabalia neighborhood in northern Gaza after prolonged battles with Hamas terrorists. The Israelis have deployed Iron Sting, a precision-guided mortar bomb. The Israelis have also accelerated testing and deployment of the Iron Beam anti-rocket laser defense system.  A hostage deal is near, Israeli media outlets report. The Israeli war cabinet and government will meet later today. Netanyahu is under tremendous pressure to get some hostages back. Make a deal with Hamas. Then turn around and punch Hezbollah in the mouth.

The Home Front: the war against Hamas in America continues. More at Legal Insurrection. 'Authorities arrested three people in connection to the damage and fire at the Elbit Systems, an Israeli-owned company, factory in Merrimack, New Hampshire.' And look, one of the terrorists is from Housatonic, Massachusetts, just a few minutes from Stroock Northern Strategic Direction Command. Once more, we are not surprised. Anyone who knows the Berkshires knows they're filled with lefty radicals. Here's a story about an anti-Jewish pogrom in nearby Pittsfield. Send 'em to Gaza.

Argentina: we've not commented on the election of Argentine madman Javier Melie because we hadn't been following the race. Paul Joseph Watson says Melie is 'mostly based' which is based enough. Ben Shapiro feels that thrill going up his leg. That's a heck of a pair of endorsements. Melie can't be worse than what Argentina has now. And as Watson points out, Melie scares all the right people. Judge a man by the enemies he makes. We're tempted to try to learn Spanish again.

Is Melie's victory like Brexit's in 2016, another warning to the global establishment and a foreshadowing of things to come? Maybe. A Trump defeat is less likely than it was even a few weeks ago when we said a Trump defeat was less likely. One can feel the vibe, a change in the psychosphere.  Nevertheless, a Trump victory is still unlikely.

Yesterday we read through the SAS's attack on REDACTED in World War 1990: The Final Storm. We were quite pleased, actually. The hard part is over. We also began work on an excursus essay, explaining ourselves. We will work on the excurses more today.
