Deal This

We don't love the ceasefire and prisoner swap. Legal Insurrection is deeply concerned. We don't hate it either. Here's some key points of the agreement. From a strategic standpoint, the pause gives Israel lots of breathing room. See, we agreed to a pause, they can tell the Americans. And the Israelis can redeploy for an attack on southern Gaza. Perhaps. Or maybe Syria. As we write this the IAF is striking targets in and around Damascus.

As for giving Hamas time to rest and regroup, Hamas has had fifteen years to fortify Gaza. Four days ain't going to make a difference. Hamas will spin the pause and release of 150 prisoners as a great victory. Who in the ruins of Gaza City, with Israeli soldiers in the streets will believe that? Delusional Arabs, that's who. They think they won the 1973 War.

It is also quite possible that Hamas will violate the terms of the agreement. In fact, we expect Hamas to come up with excuses, to ask for more time, etc etc. To that end, Israel Radar reports, 'Secret clause in Gaza hostage deal: Even one Hamas violation of ceasefire will trigger a massive Israeli assault,@AnnaBarskiy reports. h/t @AviWoolf.' Also the EU, the UN etc ets, will try to make the ceasefire permanent. Therein lies the greatest danger. Exit question, what concessions has Israel extracted from the Americans for agreeing to the deal?

Elliot Abrams, a minor character in the World War 1990 series, describes Iron Beam'Israel’s defenses took a giant leap forward this week when — for the first time ever — it used a laser beam to shoot down an incoming rocket fired by terrorists in Gaza.' Is the pause in part to by time to get Iron Beam into the field?

The war against Hamas in America continues

The read through of World War 1990: The Final Storm is complete. We need to wrap up the excursus, which is almost wrapped up. After that we send the MS to our people for formatting.

We're off to dad's house for Thanksgiving.
