The Cold Abides

The cold subsides slowly, yet persists. Somehow this is all Justin Trudeau's fault, we just know it.

Youngest Daughter had a choral concert last night. This being Bridgewater, the chorus sung Christmas songs, then a Chanukah song, (when we were a kid the song was always Dreidel, Dreidel) then a Diwali song. Ramadan was mentioned, which is fine (a blessed holiday from a great world religion), and then Kwanzaa, which is a joke.

Kwanzaa is faker than Kamala's husband's bad explanation of the meaning of Chanukah. See this excellent Ben Shapiro clip. We defer to Mister Shapiro on Judaic matters, and he points out that every year Kamala and Doug manage to fuck up Chanukah. No, Mr. Emhoff, Chanukah is not about light and joy. Chanukah is about getting those goddamn graven images out of the temple. Exit thought on Kwanzaa, as our grandfather used to say, 'Those bastards stole the menorah!'

Every night here at casa di Stroock the girls light their own menorahs. Then we stand guard to keep away a cat who is not afraid of fire. Last night the girls got a fancy coffee machine/frother for Chanukah. They were delighted.

Harvard President Claudine Gay is a Jew hating plagiarist. She is unfit to lead and Harvard is a disgrace. The Post once again excoriates Gay for plagiarism. Once again, this blog points out that not plagiarizing is not hard to do. Since that's a double-negative it means plagiarizing is hard to do.

Yeah...we could write an alternate medieval history novel about a united Carolingian Empire where King Lothar spends years campaigning in Scandanavia. We like the idea of this king sitting on his thrown as a Viking Jarl is brought to him in chains and made to kiss a bible before being tossed from the battlements. The idea of the good doing bad things to the evil is one that has always fascinated us. People seem to like the concept on FB.
