Vanced

Oh look, New Jersey's own, Senator Bob Menendez, convicted on all counts in his bribery case. #Jerseystrong.

Ah, an interesting candidate, an interesting man. We hear a lot of idiotic reactions to the J.D. Vance Veep pick, 'Trump should have chosen Glen Youngkin to put Virginia into play,' or, 'Marco Rubio could help turn out Hispanic voters for Trump in the Sun Belt.' Did Paul Ryan win Wisconsin for Romney? Did Geraldine Ferraro clinch New York for Walter Mondale? Only weirdo political geeks think like this.

Senator Vance doesn't hurt the ticket and probably helps on the margins. We remind reader(s) that no one really votes for the Veep, and the only time the pick really mattered was 1992, when Clinton chose Gore.* In 2000 Joe Lieberman may have helped turn out the Jewish vote in Florida and Pennsylvania. In this way Vance may help turn out White working-class voters in the Rust Belt. Do note, Vance is the first Millennial in national politics, the first blow against the gerontocracy.** Vance pisses off all the right people at least, from Joe Biden to Karl Rove. Exit question: should we eschew the Black Pill?

No, we're not watching the convention.

Sales wise we're having a great, great, month. Amazon now notes of World War 1990 Norway, '250+ bought or read in past month'. + is right. That's in just over two weeks, actually and doesn't take into account the many tens of thousands of KU page reads. If one has not done so already, one should buy a copy of World War 1990: Norway.

Some know-nothings will criticize writers for 'dumping' their work on KU. We do it because that's what the customer wants. At this point in our career, we make up lost digital sales with KU volume. These know nothings literally know nothing. And while the initial wave of World War 1990: Norway sales is receding, sales of other novels in the series are on the rise. Reminder, we are among the best there is at what we do.

We may have inadvertently given ourselves a sales boost by writing a novel which takes place in the very beginning of World War 1990, allowing readers to pick up the previous novels to find out what happens next. To put it another way, sales of the backlist are surging. God bless the backlist. Pssst, in the long run, that's where the real money us made.

*Seriously, people. In 1988 Dan Quayle was a national joke almost immediately but Bush won handily anyway.

**No Millennial bashing here. It's easy, we don't know anyone who can't do it.
