Veeped?

Wife and daughters are back, and home has returned to normal. Good. This place was too quiet.

It's 15 July, marking the midway point of the first month of summer and the beginning of the summer's next phase. The sky is overcast. The air is humid. The lawn is weedy. School and dance taxi resume in just 7 weeks. Yes, we pay attention to things like this, which is why we often come off as both anxious and morose.

We've one more cycle of tension training, cardio, and weights. Then it's off to the beach on Friday, where we'll get plenty of exercise just doing beach and swimming pool things.

Hmmmm, we've seen a lot of criticism of the female Secret Service agents 'protecting' President Trump. Okay, we see what the critics are alluding to, certainly in the above clip. Still, we don't know. This seems like a good time to wait for facts and keep one's goddamn mouth shut.

Breaking! Must credit William Stroock. JD Vance? Looks like Trump's Veep pick will be JD Vance. Developing...

This week we read through and edit Ambush at Lingayen Gulf. Right now we're a bit over the word count limit, so getting under that is priority numero uno. Remember Strunk & White, always remember Strunk & White. If there's one thing we learned at the Wesley College Whetstone it was Strunk and White.  Omit needless words... Ah there we go, things are truncating nicely.

The IRA book we ordered is not quite as readable as we had hoped. But we are learning, and more importantly, understanding.

Monday (not, really not) Metal: So Middle daughter went to a Niall Horan concert over the weekend. For those who don't know, though it will surprise nobody that a lot of young women read Stroock's Books, Niall is an Irish boyband singer. He used to be in One Direction. We've always liked this song and heard it at least three times a week during dance taxi:
