Blue on Big Blue Who Blows

Prime Minister Netanyahu will address the UN General Assembly this morning. Critics claim Israel is losing the information war. Critics are right. But there's really nothing the Israelis can do, not when the world makes excuses for the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah.

The IAF is once more hammering Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. After Operation Grim Beeper and the initial aerial deluge, Israel is hitting 200 + targets per day. Right now the fight with Hezbollah looks like the half dozen limited conflicts Israel fought with Hamas before the 10/7 Genocide. An enhanced aerial campaign and ground war awaits.

During the Giants/Cowboys last night, we saw Daniel Jones constantly underthrow his receivers and fail to take advantage of opportunities presented by the thoroughly mediocre Cowboys. Daniel Jones is no Eli Manning. The Giants haven't won a primetime game in forever, nor they haven't beaten the Cowboys in forever. The Giants suck, and this franchise is moribund. We weren't annoyed, frustrated or angry. We merely watched last night like it was a random Thursday night game. Could've been Seattle vs Arizona.  We've come a long way.

The Giants' uniform patches reminded us that this is their hundredth season. We remembered last night that we meant to blog about our relationship with and memories of the team this autumn. Given the state of the franchise, maybe the less said, the better. The Giants have won one playoff game in the last decade. They've gone through four coaches. Mister we could use a man like Eli Manning again.

Speaking of coming a long way, yesterday afternoon we realized, it was the 106th anniversary of the start of the Meuse/Argonne offensive. It's been six years since we published Pershing in Command. The book has 33 ratings with a 4 + star average. We did some posting and links to Pershing in Command and some old articles we wrote on Substack yesterday, and it looks like we moved a copy or two. At this very moment it ranks 244th in WWI books, which ain't bad considering the many, many thousands of WWI books.

There are half a dozen unpublished articles about the AEF on our computer and a half-finished alternate history novel, Pershing's War. We don't know if we'll ever do anything with them. Pershing in Command didn't do well, we didn't expect it to do well, honestly. By the mid 2010s magazine writing had taken us as far as it was going to go and we thought why not consolidate that effort into one big project? Effort consolidated and mission accomplished. Our work on the Pershing and the AEF resulted in half a dozen magazine articles, one war game (for which Decision Games stiffed us) and a history book. We move on.
