Saturday Updates

Yesterday Netanyahu was giving a press conference in NY when a military aid whispered something in his ear. He got up and left; high drama indeed. We all wondered. This blog speculated that Bibi's jaunt to the UN was part of a strategic deception. You know what the imams say. It turns out the imams are right. We awoke this morning to official confirmation: Nasrallah is dead, killed in an Israeli bunker buster strike...and on shabbat too. We would never have imagined such a thing.

We expected to see clips of rockets raining down upon Israel. Hezbollah has launched a barrage here, a barrage there, but so far no deluge. There's no one left to give the orders, is there? Meanwhile the IAF conducted dozens of strikes overnight against Hezbollah missile and rocket storage facilities. We've seen footage of multiple boom-booms and bang-bangs punctuated by secondary blasts.

Iran is talking tough and spewing rhetorical fire and brimstone. Of course, the more bellicose the Arab's rhetoric the more impotent is the Arab. But what of the Persian? What comes next? Rocket war? Ground war? We've no idea and won't speculate. Actually we have one idea and will speculate. The Israelis are going to do something to the Houthis. For now, a great day for Israel, a great day for Jews, a great day for humanity.

The Thing(s).

Morning Rory is done-ish. The story needs tonne's of work, but the rough draft is there. We'll spend this weekend thinking up how we're going to write the Australia story. We're also ready to gather info on nuclear artillery rounds. We read through Haig in the Bunker and Voodoo Genie. They're almost done. Things are progressing slowly, but they are progressing. War Night is 52,000 words.
