Coming Together is the Plan

Good morning, Stroock's Books people.

The knee is much better this morning. We may even hit the gym today. That will be a game time decision. It's been a week, and we feel icky. Na....still feels tender.

Sports wrap: 🎜Beat the Mets. Cheat the Mets. Step right up and defeat the Mets🎝. The Mets lost yesterday but Mrs. Stroock's Phillies defeated the Nationals 7-4, blowing a late lead but coming back to put up a four-spot in extra innings [I have no idea what you just said-Ed]. Shut up, Ed. You're from Liverpool. We sat down to watch the game at 4:05 and promptly dozed off. Which is just one of the many reasons why we like to hit the gym at that time.

Chindia academic report: one of Oldest Daughter's friends was accepted by both Army and Air Force. Judging by the chatter we're hearing around the house, everyone else got into Harvard and Yale. Shocker. For her part, Oldest Daughter applied to 13 schools and got into 12.  What can a dad say? We are almost certainly going to become a Scarlet Knight family, laughingstock of the Big Ten Conference. For those who may be wondering, yes there is a big Rutgers fan base in New Jersey.

Well Canada's fucked. No seriously. Canada is fucked. The election is a month away. Canada wants a barely Canadian Davos man. That's all there is to it. Canada wants Mark Carney. Canada is voting for Mark Carney. And Canada deserves Mark Carney. Maye Pierre can vaporize Carney in the debates [You're clinging-Ed]. Yes we are. Exit question: is Trump's trade war with Canada part of a diabolic scheme to throw the lection to Carney and facilitate the nation's breakup? We're not kidding.

Last night the United States carried out 'extensive' airstrikes against the Houthis. This morning exactly seven B-2 bombers are at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Why seven B-2s? Why not six or eight? Is seven some kind of message? We dunno, but why not?

Related: protests continue in Gaza. We've no idea what to make of them. We reserve judgement, but we're not optimistic. This blog notes that a Gazan civil war would not be a bad thing. In fact, we encourage one. Think of it. Hamas and the various tribes killing one another. Europe under enormous pressure to take in refugees.  Yes! Ha-ha...Yessss!

DOGE report: yesterday we wrote two scenes in World War 1990: Thacher's War. We have a vision for this novel, finally. We'll write about it this Sunday. Let's just say a plan is coming together. We love it when a plan comes together. Our proofer has War Night. We'll have War Night today. Good, we need a break, frankly.
