We decided to commemorate May Day with an Arturo Fuente and a couple of pints. Our 7th of the year. We're on a good pace.
War Night has dropped out of the top 20 of its Amazon category but is still selling well and has 22 ratings for a 4.9 star average. Somone gave War Night a 2 star rating, bastards. Heh, we're #6 in Australia. That's not hard to do. We await reviews from Downunder with great fear and trepidation. We're doing okay in Britain. Canada is a distance 4th, typical. We blame Mark Carney. Anywho...we still don't feel like the algorithm has really popped.
They had local elections in Britain yesterday? Who knew? Breitbart: 'Reform UK has gained a new Member of Parliament by just six votes, won its first mayor, and picked up more councillors than all other parties combined in early results in a historic night.' The Times also thinks Reform had a great night. It is said that to know Nigel is to loath Nigel. But screw it. We don't trust the Tories. Up the Reform!
Canucks: Ezra Levant once more points out that with 42 % of the vote Pierre did better than any Tory leader since 1988. He argues that Carney won because the Greens and NDP consoldated around him.
The imams are right about the Jews. Always: 'Organizers of the "Freedom Flotilla" to Gaza, which aimed to "break the siege" on the enclave, claimed two drones attacked their ship near Malta—but stopped short of blaming any specific party. Israeli authorities have not commented on the attack...' The IRA could have carried out the attack, we suppose. Those wily Irish. Shining Path? The Moro Islamic Liberation Front, perhaps.
Related....we asked Grok for the latest Israeli political polls. Our own summary, the government of Benjamin Netanyahu is not liked and not trusted. But were an election held today the nation would be politically deadlocked once more with Likud winning about 20-25 Knesset seats. However, if Naftali Bennett runs, his theoretical party would win 26-29 Knesset seats and the left-block would win about 65 seats overall- without the Arab parties.
We should note that Bennett is popular without having been through the rigors of a campaign. Who knows would Bibi and company can/will do to him in 2026. As the IDF ramps up the Gaza campaign, Bibi has said that he'd like to end the war next year, big surprise. Would Bibi then step aside as the man who defeated both Hamas and Hezbollah? We kid we kid...For the record, assuming the previous sentence describes the world of 2026, this blog would support Naftali Bennett. It's time, Bibi. We can't miss you if you won't go away.
Iran talks....either the Trump Administration is formulating a deal similar to the deal formulated by Barry...or...talks are postponed, and the Trump Administration is pissed and threatening Iran. We've no idea. Exit question: would Israel strike Iran anyway?
DOGE Report: we read through the first battle of Derry chapter in World War 1990: Thatcher's War. While the chapter needed tidying, we were overall quite pleased with what we read. We'll read chapter II today. One nag...we can imagine fans thinking, 'This is a WWIII series. Why am I reading about a bunch of Irish paramilitaries running around Clooney Terrace and the Creggan in Derry?'
We did some thinkin' about a fifth nuke novel. We're not quite there yet. We're probably overthinking [That's a first-Ed], and should underthink instead. We may just need to say 'damn it all' and strat writing something, anything, for the ju-ju to come.
