Thursday Negotiation Waiting

Good morning, people of Stroock's Books. 

We had quite the deluge of rain yesterday with a bit more predicted today. 

The Administration has submitted a nuclear proposal to Iran. Hot Air has a write up. Trump keeps saying, 'Iran can't have nuclear weapons'. Many in Israel are worried as a perusal of ToI or YNet will show. In his first term Trump walked away from bad deals with North Korean and China. Would Trump take this deal? We'll see. 

This is excellent news. The US is establishing its own organization for distributing relief in Gaza, sidelining Hamas and the various international do-gooders. The UN is of course hopping mad. To put it another way, all the right people oppose this effort. Hamas is further sidelined.  Breaking! Word is negotiations with Hamas have failed. Israeli security cabinet to meet Sunday. Here it comes.

The AP reports, 'THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The International Criminal Court ’s chief prosecutor [Karim Khan] has lost access to his email, and his bank accounts have been frozen.' Read on for every delightful detail. You'd have to be an inhuman monster not to laugh at the ICC and Khan's misfortune.* Reminder, Khan has been credibly accused of sexual assault. Believe all women. Believe the survivors. 

The Critical Drinker, who is always right, was moved by Andor's Ghorman Massacre episode (S2E8). And we admit to undervaluing it just a bit. We didn't notice some of the subtle things the Drinker points out [Right, because these weren't explosions and boobs-Ed]. Right. Which brings us to...

What Will's Watching: Andor S2E9. Here Mon Mothma gives her final speech in the senate about the Ghorman Massacre. Monthma goes on at some length about truth, lies, and misinformation. The writers aren't making the point they think they're making, as right now the American press is trying to rewrite its role in covering up Joe's dementia. This episode was also a little too satisfied with itself. Still, we were entertained. 

DOGE report: We worked on the World War 1990: Thatcher's War interlude chapter. We'd actually forgotten we'd written a few RUC vs IRA scenes here. Our South Armagh research continues...

We had one solid idea for a 5th nuke book story and feel another solid idea coming on. If we get two good ideas, we'll be good to go.
