Wednesday Post Without Title

A wet and rainy good morning from the hinterlands of Northern New Jersey.

Yesterday morning we kinda sorta challenged Netanyahu and the Israelis to back up their tough talk about Hamas with action. Yesterday afternoon the IAF dropped a bunch of bunker busters on Hamas's HQ in Khan Yunis, almost certainly killing Hamas head honcho Mohamed Sinwar.* It is said that Sinwar was a major obstacle to a ceasefire and his departure will aid negotiations. Exit question, what if more 'moderate' Hamas elements tipped off the Israelis? That would be hilarious

Trump had quite a day in Saudi Arabia, inking hundreds of billions of dollars in trade deals and then giving a speech slamming the old foreign policy (neocon) order and warning Iran. Trump said a lot of nice things about Prince Mohamed and Saudi Arabia. It's almost as if Trump understands that flattery is an excellent way to get things done.

This blog had feared that Trump would pressure Israel. Nope! We were reminded of George W. Bush and Tony Blair's joint press conference during the Israeli's Operation Defensive Shield in 2002. After much media speculation that Messrs. Bush and Blair would call for a ceasefire, they slammed Yassir Arafat and the PLO.

We'll see what today brings in....Qatar.

But despite Trump being the most pro-Jewish and pro-Israeli president in history. according to Israel Hayom 52 percent of American Jews 'view Trump himself as an antisemitic figure. Read on, 'Nearly half of respondents (49%) assert that budget cuts to universities actually increased antisemitism. A substantial majority (61%) believe that deporting pro-Palestinian protesters worsened the situation...' 52 percent of American Jews are...We search in vain for the words. Yes, we've encountered these attitudes in our own community/synagogue. Most American Jews are liberals/leftists and in 2024 about 66 percent of them voted for the barren wombed Democrat. We shake our head more in sorrow than anger, we guess.

DOGE report: all day working on Battle of Derry Part III. We think it's time to do a Lord Humongous and walk away. We're working ont the interlude chapter now.

We had a nuke story idea, but it doesn't fit into our 5th Great Nuclear War of 1975 book concept. A Soviet bomber crash lands at the North Pole

*We admit to being nervous about Trump's Saudi speech, and a little down with all the talk a 'rift' between Trump and Bibi. But the Sinwar bombing perked us right up.
