The War on the Ants Continues

Good morning, Stroock's Books congregants and Shabbat Shalom.

The knee is a little sore and hurts if we move funny, but we should be able to hit the gym this afternoon, carefully.

D-Day, the 6th of June as they say. Da-da-da-dum. We first saw The Longest Day on a November afternoon in 1982. Despite the film's flaws (especially the silliness in the Brit sequences) The Longest Day remains the best D-Day movie. Reminder, after the opening blockbuster Saving Private Ryan is awful, post-modern dreck. A WWII movie about the WWII movies Steven Spielberg saw as a boy. Steven can't even decide what WWII is all about and doesn't seem sure Allied victory is a good thing.

Ant War Update: We've secured the kitchen pantry and the master shower. The ants have retreated to the vanity. We conducted several strikes last night, once more inflicting heavy casualties. The UN is calling for a ceasefire and a Federal district court judge has issued an injunction against further anti-ant action.

The Israelis carried out air strikes in Beirut and southern Lebanon last night, destroying four Hezbollah drone factories. For years we worried about Hezbollah's missile arsenal. Now drones are the threat. Meanwhile Iran has ordered missile making material from China.

Israel Radar tells us that 55% of the Israeli public wants a strike on Iran. For weeks Open Source Intel has pointed out that an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear program could mean air strikes, it could mean commando raids, it could mean subterfuge, cyber warfare or all of these at once. Or something else we haven't even considered. You know what the imams say.

Via The Jerusalem Post the latest poll forecasts electoral doom for Netanyahu and the Coalition. Incidentally, an outfit called Direct Polls has Bibi and the Coalition winning 62 seats. Maybe they have the Zeitgeist, but we doubt it. Bibi winning would be funny, though. Even funnier would be Likud forming a coalition with the center parties and smashing the Haredi. Hey, one can dream, can't one? Also, this poll shows the public is very pessimistic about getting the rest of the hostages and defeating Hamas. Exit question, what was American public opinion about the war in 1863 and 1943?

Yes, Trump and Elon fighting is the Current Thing. Hey, anyone remember when Pete Hegseth accidently inviting a journo into a group chat was the Current Thing, like six weeks ago? In two weeks, another Thing will be the Current Thing. Is this all just a psyop? [You're wish-casting-Ed] Probably.

DOGE report: In World War 1990: Thatcher's War, we wrote an IRA 'oh fuck, Britian is invading Ireland what to we do scene?' and edited another scene.

In World War 1990: The Managua Campaign we began an American National Guard scene, remember McGhee? Think Iraq, but in Cuba.
