'God, it's freezing downstairs,' we complained to Mrs. Stroock.
'Seriously?' and resumed packing.
Good morning, people of Stroock's Books. You Christians get yourself to church now.
We awake with a vague but persistent sense of melancholy. Foreboding even. Mrs. Stroock takes the girls to Indiana on Tuesday. You know what that means [A day or two of peace and quiet, cigars and whisky, lots of brooding -Ed]. Yep.
Time passes. The passage of time and the time of year puts us in mind of the summer of 1995. Thirty years on now [Math checks out-Ed]. Our second summer in Washington DC, our second internship. This time we were working for Senator William V Roth (R) Delaware. It was a hard summer in a lot of ways. Our first time commuting on the metro every day, really working in an office. But it was a great experience too. A summer we remember fondly. This week is summer 1995 week here at Stroock's Books.
Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/29/25. We'll be working on World War 1990: The Managua Campaign In the mornings. In the afternoons we'll be reading through World War 1990: Thatcher's War getting things set for the final chapter. In truth, it feels like we've really scrambled things. We've come a long way from what we thought was an interesting idea, Britain invading Ireland.
