Baaaa....we swipe at the air once more. The toe still bothers us - a lot. We may just break down and drag ourselves to urgent care once we post this. 'Look, doc. I just need a cortisone shot.' We shall see.
We actually got some routine bloodwork this morning; meaning we went till 10 AM without coffee.
A rough morning all around.
Anyway here's what we wrote about our last blood test on 9/9/24: 'It's disappointing really. We got our bloodwork back. We anticipated writing a post called, 'You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket.' Well, son-of-a-bitch. Cholesterol, triglycerides, hemoglobin, they're all down 10-20 percent since last year's test. Our sodium levels are aggressively normal. We're still prediabetic, which they've been telling us for literally 30 years now. But were just barely over the line. At least our right shoulder blade is bothering us. That's something, we guess. What the actual ef?' We're not optimistic, but that could be the toe aching.
We still toy with the idea of getting back into magazine writing. We're especially keen on submitting to a Brit magazine with whom we've published before. But our proposed topic is the American Revolution [You mean War of the Rebellion?-Ed] if that helps you. The Limeys can be tetchy about Americans. It's something to do. But probably wouldn't sell books. And the great Mark Judge reminds us, 'Journalism doesn't pay anymore-'. Yep.
DOGE report: We read through Chapters II and III of the Battle of Derry. Chapter III seems a bit abrupt and in need of articulation. This we're doing with a word here, a sentence there. We may need to add a scene or two. Overall we are pleased and on schedule.
