Will Goes Gaza on the Ants

Day eight of solitude. Most of the 'honey do' tasks are complete. Near total moroseness. Solace found last night in a glass of Glenlivet from an old bottle we didn't know we had.

We confront the fact that the Trump DOJ says Jeffrey Epstein killed himself and no client list exists. Either they're telling the truth or they're in on the conspiracy. Our brain can't process. If there is a Jeffrey Epstein client list, and if Trump's name was on it, the Deep State would have leaked it. Unless they have even bigger plans [Now your being paranoid-Ed].

Ant War: ant activity has been minimal. While reorganizing a few things on the back porch we moved a box from the corner and uncovered a colony. 'Ants,' we said. 'Thousands of 'em.' And thousands of larvae. We arc lighted the bastards. Arc lighted them with extreme prejudice.

Update! We saw some activity on the front stoop and traced them back into one of the windows. Upon opening we found a large colony complete with larvae on the windowsill. We nuked it from orbit.

In all the ants suffered thousands of losses today. Let that be a deterrent against further an aggression.

In considering Black Sabbath's farewell concert, we can't help but think that this is the end of Heavy Metal [That's just the quiet and solitude talking-Ed]. Is it? It's been a decade since we've gone through Black Sabbath's albums. We listened to Paranoid at the gym yesterday. We found the experience...unpleasant.

About 20 years ago began the Metal revival. These were our HS substitute teacher days. We noticed that some kids were wearing those notorious black heavy metal T-shirts from the 80s. Those who were there know the ones, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhodes tribute, Metallica etc etc. Something was definitely happening. A new generation was taking a look at Heavy Metal, still not twenty years off its peak (1988, the Hair Metal craze, no?).

Then came That Metal Show, which turbo-charged the Metal revival.  Here's a fascinating video on the rise and fall of TMS. We agree with everything here. In 2006 VH1 aired the four-hour documentary, Heavy the Story of Metal. There followed Sam Dunn's 11(!) part documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Dunn chronicled heavy metal with the enthusiasm of a fan, the eye of a musician, and the methods of a sociologist, he has a degree in the field. There will never be a better Heavy Metal doc. The laws of physics just don't allow it.

Here's our own contribution to the story of Metal.

As we write this, choppers are overhead. It's happening....or not.
