Good morning, Stroock's Books consultants and happy Saturday.
In two days we drop off Oldest Daughter at Rutgers. We have decidedly mixed feelings about this. Frankly, we don't know what to think.
Related: today is our (does math) 27th wedding anniversary. Dupont Country Club, Wilmington Delaware, 23 August 1998. That wedding cost $11,000 in 1998 dollars. We thought that was sooooo much money. Man, it was hot. Like 95 + degrees hot. We had an excellent wedding reception though, and took the party back to the hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Stroock spent their wedding night with friends and family. Wouldn't change a thing. Our grandfather remarked, 'This is the first time since 1935 that three Mrs. Stroocks have been in a room together.
We were off to Bermuda the next morning.
What can one say? Two kids who started out as love struck teenagers - okay we were 20 at the time but reader(s) know what we mean - still together after all these years. We're not those kids anymore. We're not a young married couple. But gentleman, we'll tell you this. We'll still stop what we're doing to watch her walk past.
The Things.
The Battle of Ardee is coming along and taking shape. We are generally pleased. We found a couple of more books about the Irish Army.
For some time three of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 books have been available on audiobook. This was an experiment and the experiment was a success. We've made War Night available in audiobook format as well.
