Blue on Blue at the UN

Good morning, Stroock's Books enthusiasts.

Our foot is bothering us again this morning, damn it. What's up with that? The sink is full of dishes. Despite doing copious amounts of laundry this week, today we have copious amounts of laundry to do. Such is life with four women.

What we got today? Just how Jewy do we want to get on shabbat? Let's start.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will address the UN today. Lord knows what he'll say. The longer the Gaza war the worse for Israel. Gradually Israel becomes more isolated. Win it or end it, Bibi. Pick one. Anywho, we're listening now.  Okay...he excoriated the UN, the Euros, flaccid Britain, etc, and declared there would never be a 'Palestinian' state. But Bibi never said what should happen next with Gaza. We've heard all this from Bibi before. Call us underwhelmed.

[Yeah? and what's your plan? -Ed]

Gaza, the Stroock Plan: Relocation of willing Gazans to Ireland. Housing estates built at Free Derry Corner [That's Northern Ireland-Ed] whatever, New Grange, Kilmainham Gaol....reader(s) will get the idea (paid for by the Europeans). Permanent annexation of Philadelphi and Netzhim Corridors. Construction of the Ben Gurion Canal to separate Gaza from Israel (paid for by the Gulf Arabs). Hundred year reparations paid by Gaza to Israel. Duel Nobel Peace Prize for Trump and Netanyahu. [Your just trolling now-Ed]. Are we ever, love.

Breitbart's Joel Pollack tells us that Trump is dead set against Israel annexing Judea/Samaria. Which is wise. Pollack has an interesting analyses and primer on the matter. One suspects Bibi is trying to trade not annexing Judea/Samaria for Trump's support in Gaza. You know what the imams say.

Jersey Beat...The NY Post reports: 'Dem NJ gov candidate Mikie Sherrill barred from walking at US Naval Academy graduation over cheating scandal.' Sherrill knew about the cheating but didn't report it. We don't think this scandal is a huge deal. But it is a headache and dings Sherrill's greatest strength, her military background.

The cheating story follows the latest Emerson Poll, which has Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli even at 43. Do recall Jack's people released an internal poll showing him leading 46-45. And don't forget, nationally the Democrats have horrible numbers right now and are threatening to shut down the government. Go ahead Dems, shutdown the government. Dems, I'm laughing at the superior intellect. There's no denying that Sherrill is having a bad week. Remain cautious. Maintain proper levels of circumspectitude. Seriously, maintain proper levels.

So the Meuse/Argonne offensive began 107 years ago today. Read all about Pershing and the American Expeditionary Force. Pershing in Command is now seven years old as well. It's never really sold. We never really thought it would, but we're glad we wrote it. By 2015 or so magazine article writing had taken us as far as it could. Why not use that time and those resources to write a history book?

Of course a lot of the research went toward writing magazine articles about Pershing and the AEF. By our count we wrote a half dozen features and several smaller articles.

Here's Pershing's Hammer.  Here's an article about the AEF's first battles. Look at us, on the cover of Military History Matters. Speaking of smaller articles, here's a list style article we did on the AEF. Here's a Great War 'what if' we wrote for 1945. We wrote several AEF articles for Strategy & Tactics Magazine, but as of 2025 they've not seen fit to digitalize their archives. To be fair, Sovereign Media's above linked website kind of sucks.

We're sitting on half a dozen AEF articles, chapters really, in a cancelled follow up to Pershing in Command. We've also got 35,000 words of an alternate history novel about Pershing and the war going into 1919. We dunno. We were going to release the follow up and the alternate history simultaneous like. We shrug in the most Mediterranean way possible.
