Good day, reader(s) of Stroock's Books.
The morning temperature is an autumnal 53 degrees.
The girls are off to school.
Oldest daughter has her first day of class at Rutgers.
Youngest Daughter informs us she no longer requires our presence at the bus stop.
The girls have been underfoot one way or another since late June. At 7:26 AM the house is devoid of children. We're not quite sure what to do with ourselves.
The Stroock summer has ended.
Jersey Beat: the latest New Jersey lottery jackpot is $1.3 billion. No, we didn't buy a ticket, nor will we. What would we do with $1.3 billion?
What Will's Watching: we are three episodes into the Netflix Dallas Cowboys documentary. The doc is bringing back a lot of memories. We watched the rise of Jerry Jones' Cowboys with a mixture of awe and disgust. Awe because of the talent Jones and coach Jimmy Johnson assembled, disgust because the Cowboys got so good again so quickly. Could the Cowboys at least suck for four or five years before winning another Super Bowl? No, no they could not.
DOGE report: we're slugging along the streets of Ardee. The Irish have this annoying habit of changing a street name every couple of blocks to describe where one is. So, Market Street, becomes Castle Street, becomes Bridge Street etc etc. Those damn Irish. Anyway we have a second overwritten urban tactical engagement on the Emerald Isle.
