A Decade and a Day

Good morning, fellow disgruntled NFL fans, and happy Monday.

Once more we have autumn temperatures this morning but will see summer temperatures this afternoon.

FB tells us we posted these bad jokes ten years ago:
So I'm sitting here in the hospital last night and they bring in this crazed meth-head, I swear he looked like death, bloody mouth, glassy eyes and screaming like a dying bear eating some bad salmon, and then this guy ups and starts biting people. What the heck?

I'm fine. Home from the hospital. Pro tip, when you need to charge your computer, don't just randomly unplug things. Some of those machines are important.

Thanks for all the concern people. My sister has graciously agreed to sign the DNR form....anyway I had a cardiac catheterization in which they blew open my artery and put in a mesh stent to clear it out. Lots of new cholesterol meds and some diet and exercise changes. On the bright side, wine is good for this sort of thing, right?
We remember writing those.

So they stuck a line in our wrist and pushed it up our arm, into our chest and all the way into the artery leading to the heart. The whole time we watched via a live chest X-ray. Then they shot some dye into the artery. The dye blew back the way it came. '90 percent blockage,' the doctor said. Which certainly explained the chest pains we had the last week or ten days. At the end of the line was a steel mesh, which they expanded and left in the artery, cleaning out decades of gunk. We still recall the feeling of the mesh balloon inflating in our chest.

The cardiac catheterization was kind of a big deal. Anything involving the word 'cardiac' is kind of a big deal.

It's Will Almost had a Heart Attack Week here at Stroock's Books. We'll be discussing the matter all week. Enjoy.

New York Sports Suck Hole...The Giants had five consecutive turnovers yesterday against the lowly Saints. Meanwhile Giants cast off Daniel Jones led the Colts to a 40-6 victory over the Raiders. Much like former Giant Saquon Barkley who went on to rush for 2000 yards and win the Super Bowl with the Eagles, Jones just needed a change of scenery. The Giants are a toxic mess.

The Jets were down 30-3 in the 3rd quarter against the Cowboys. The less said about the Jets the better.

And Mrs. Stroock's Eagles blew a 17-3 leader against Denver. We've been thinking for a couple of weeks now that the Eagles ain't as good as some folks think.

San Deigo couldn't even beat the hated Redskins.

The Toronto Blue Jays obliterated the New York Yankees yesterday. Those Canadian bastards lead the best of five series 2 nil. Canada sucks.

What a sucky sports day. We were miffed.

Negotiations are afoot in the Middle East. We'll see. Trump continues to talk tough about Hamas. Hot Air's assessment feels about right. One supposes Trump could pressure Bibi into a bad deal. But one doesn't think Trump will do that, now does one?

We're dreading tomorrow, October 7th. We're also dreading the Nazi protestors who will take to the streets tomorrow to celebrate the Hamas massacre. What can one say? Bomb Gaza. We ourselves ordered some new Israel T-shirts yesterday. What else can we do?
