Good autumn morn to Stroock's Books reader(s) and associated enthusiasts. Right now the temp is 31 degrees and the sky is dark blue/gray. Temps will climb into the high 50s today. We do love our Yankee autumn.
Yesterday we ourselves and 67 percent of the Stroock girls sojourned across the dread-Hudon River to visit our dad. Said visit went fine. Maintaining a family tradition that we estimate is a hundred years old, we stayed three hours and made a hard exit.
New York sports suck-hole...
A convincing win for the Eagles over the Giants. Jaxon Dart did have a few moments, though. At 6-2 the Eagles are improving each week. This is what good teams do after a slow start.
A convincing win for the Broncos over the (totally gay) Cowboys. The Cowboys can score points but can't stop anyone from scoring points. The Broncos defense looks....big, strong and tough.
The Jets finally won a game and who cares?
Tonight all of America rallies around the Los Angeles Dodgers in their game against the Canadian Blue Jays [Canadian? And you do know that two of the Dodgers biggest stars, Ohtani and Yamamoto are Japanese, right? Ed]. Whatever.
Jersey beat: The New Jersey Globe reports: 'Lakewood Vaad endorses Jack Ciattarelli for governor...Influential Orthodox Jewish group could mean huge pluralities for GOP nominee...' Yep, this is a big deal and means other New Jersey Orthodox Jewish groups will follow. We don't care what polls say, both the Jack and Mikie campaigns are acting like the race is tight. That's the vibe. At this point it's about turnout, man.
DOGE report: or pree-DOGE report, anyway. Today and this week we'll go over the first 55,000 words or so of Thatcher's War and try to figure out what we must needs do to turn it into a novel all its own. Hmmm should we just call the novel, World War 1990: Ireland? Maybe. Reminder, this novel, whatever one calls it, begins the night World War Three begins.
Oh good, a new problem. How to title chapters taking place in Derry/Londonderry? That's The Troubles for you. For every solution, the Irish will find a problem. For as it is written, for every solution the Irish will find a problem.
