Blue Marches South

A good morning to Canadian reader(s) of Stroock's Books from the Bay of Fundy to Vancouver Island, and congratulations on the Toronto Blue Jays winning the American League.

Toronto Winning the American League...what an odd thing to write. There's nothing American about Toronto. The Toronto Blue Jayes making the World Series is Trump's greatest failure. It was like watching the White House burn to the ground all over again. This blog demands the doubling of Canadian tariffs and a war of revenge. Toronto, goddamn border hoppers.

Okay, seriously. Cito Gaston's Toronto Blue Jays of the early 90's were the best baseball team between Sparky Anderson's Big Red Machine and Joe Torrie's Yankees. Set the tone, as Shoresy would say. Give your balls a tug. Also, Good 'cause you're going: yeah-oop!

The Blue Jays overcame the Seattle Mariners in 7 games. Fun fact: the Mariners remain the only team to never appear in the World Series. Which is what we thought. To confirm we asked Grok. You know what we also asked Grok [Is Elon Musk paying you?-Ed]. No, Elon Musk is not paying us. But were he to make an offer we would listen. Anywho, you know what we also asked Grok? Who is Natan Nagid. Grok replied in part:

Bio: "-GOC, Operation Big Cedars / -Author, Not Peace but Victory: Crushing the Palestinians and Establishing Greater Israel / -Jewish, Zionist, God bless Ariel Sharon""GOC" likely refers to "Greater Occupied Canaan," a fringe expansionist concept implying Israeli control over biblical territories.
"Operation Big Cedars" seems to be a satirical or invented reference to military operations, possibly echoing historical Israeli actions like Operation Cedar (though no exact match exists).
The book title suggests a hardline, maximalist ideology rejecting compromise and favoring conquest, aligning with ultranationalist views. No verifiable publication or sales data for this book was found, indicating it may be fictional or self-published for rhetorical effect.

Actually, sometimes Grok will link Nagid to us and the Israel Strikes series. Grok goes on to say, 'Content Style: Posts are consistently inflammatory, defending Israeli military actions (e.g., in Gaza), blaming Hamas for conflicts, and using derogatory language toward critics.' Heh, this describes us on Substack as well.

Speaking of Substack...we're getting bored with the thing. Sure we've sold a few books via the platform. We've built a following of 1500 or so and even met a few people. But meh. We mostly just use Substack to vent so we don't vent at friends and family on FB. Heck, it's been a week since our last post there.

Related...FB tells us that four years ago we posted that a poll had Governor Phill Murphy leading Jack Ciattarelli 50-44, which was closer than previous polls back then, and about the average now. The current race is closer than the mainstream polls are showing. If those same mainstream polls show Jack closing with Mikie Sherrill, then she really is in trouble.

And...FB also tells us that 17 years ago we posted, 'Just finished an article for the Maryland Historical Society.' Here's the article: On the Road to Guilford Courthouse with Colonel Otho Holland Williams. We got several hardcopies lying around here someplace. This is just another example of us turning a graduate paper into a magazine article. Remember, we've published in both commercial and scholarly journals. We admit to feeling an itch to do so again. We are among the best there is at what we do.
