Grog the Nard

Good morning, Stroock's Books refugees.

We'll have more beautiful autumnal weather with temps in the mid-60s this afternoon.

Oldest Daughter called last night to tell us she got a 96 on her international relations mid-term. We are both proud and touched.

No, we didn't watch the NYC mayoral debate last night. John Podhoretz at the NY Post has the wrap. It's time for Jews to leave NYC. That's an incredible thing to say, but it's true, At least Killer Andy C. will be humiliated once more.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE say the Gaza Plan is on the verge of collapse, Israel Hayom reports. We don't care. Israel has the living hostages back. Hamas has very little leverage against them now. And Trump is already getting pissed. We can imagine the phone call between Trump and Bibi, 'Yeah, Bibi? Listen. Hamas isn't living up to its obligations. Do what you need to do. I gotta go.' Blockade and bomb.

Holy Moly. Breitbart reports on a pair of Israeli polls showing Netanyahu, Likud, and the Coalition surging in the wake of the hostage deal. Click over. The report is nothing but good news for the Israeli right. This is an intriguing bit, 'Where suitability to serve as prime minister is concerned, the poll revealed that 58% of Israelis favor Netanyahu; 22% favor his closest rival, Naftali Bennett...'These  polls come before Bibi and company have had a chance to campaign. It's not that we love Bibi. We don't. It's just that reelecting him would piss off all the right people.

We're beginning mornings on Substack now with a daily reminder that Israel is great. The Jew haters keep showing up in our feed. Oddly, many of them want to debate. We don't. We just tell these people that they're showing up in our feed, and we're reposting them with our own pithy, witty insults, 'You walked in on mom and her new Jewish boyfriend, didn't you?' Or we simply call them gay and retarded.

DOGE Report: So, on a whim we sent the Managua Campaign MS to the grognard, who sent us back his notes. We'll spend today going over the Battle of Los Banos, which we haven't looked at in several weeks. We need a break from the Troubles. Reminder: for every solution the Irish will find a problem. So does World War 1990: Thatcher's War.

The Grognard also inquired as to our book release schedule. We'll have another short story out this year with the great James Young. That's one novel and two short stories in 2026. Look at us, on the Thin Red Tales cover right below S.M. Stirling. And look, TRT is still in the mid 50s-60s of its Amazon category. Our critics can fuck right off.

Anywho, you're looking at 2026 being a threefer with Thatcher's War, The Managua Campaign, and the latest nuke novel, coming out in that order.
