A good Saturday morn to Stroock's Books weekenders.
We'll see big, nationwide 'No Kings' protests today. Hmmm...there was a protest right here in Bridgewater last time. Some friends went. It looks like the nearest protest to us today is in Morristown.
Hamas continues to fuck around. Hamas' fuck around was not unexpected. When will Hamas find out? Whatever, man. Israel has the living hostages back, reducing Hamas' leverage to just a tweak above nil.
Weekend sports wrap. The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the World Series, their fifth appearance in a decade and second in a row. Shohei Ohtani got the win and hit three homers? Is this a movie or something? The Dodgers are a remarkable franchise.
The Things.
The Grognard Grognarded World War 1990: The Managua Campaign. Then we read through the Battle of Los Banos chapter. We are pleased with the final result. The Mexican Marines are now called Force Azteca, which is kinda cool. We'll probably switch back to The Mangua Campaign this week. World War 1990: The Managua Campaign is 25,000 words
We had a frustrating yet productive week with World War 1990: Thatcher's War. It's coming along. As they say, 'All together....lift!' To that end we have people beta reading the Derry chapter [Londonederry-Ed]. Shut up, Ed. You're from Liverpool, you dolly bird [Dolly bird? Aw thanks-Ed].
We feel like there's still sooooo much work to do. We shake our head in sorrow more than anger. As we write this the Irish folk songs we used to hear at Ireland's Four Provinces in the 90s play pleasantly in our head. 'And it's no...way...never....No way never no more...'
