Will's Monday NFL Wrap

Good morning, People of Stroock's Books.

A rare miss for this blog yesterday as we took the family to the airport, ran a few errands on the way home, and enjoyed our first Arturo Fuente in 42 days. Frankly, we're impressed with ourselves for that one.

Normally when the family goes away things get weird around here. Things are quiet. Even off a little. But they're not weird. Not yet.

We're finally un-sick. We'll get in a few gym sessions before heading to NY for Xmas.

Work wise we're probably taking it easy this week.

Mrs. Stroock's Eagles have won two straight, albeit against bad teams. On the one hand the Eagles took care of business against the Raiders and the Redskins including a shutout. On the other hand, mistakes made the Redskins game closer than it was. The score should have been something like 39-18. On the gripping hand a dear friend who loves the Eagles said, 'I dunno it was like beating up on the retarded kid in gym class.'

For the second straight season the Cowboys failed to make the playoffs. Note, yesterday's Cowboys game was the first Cowboys game we haven't seen this season. Dear NFL, please stop leg humping the Dallas Cowboys. It's annoying.

New York Sports suckhole....we watched not one snap of the Jets or Giants. Good. Because they suck. Wait, the TD the Giants scored against the Vikings was scored by the Defense? Neither NY 'football' team scored an offensive touchdown?

Later we enjoyed the Steelers/Lions game. We don't even know how to describe the ending. Let's just say, don't ever turn off the telly after a touchdown is scored with 22 seconds left. 'That's the game,' we said as Amon ra St. Brown waltzed into the endzone. No, it wasn't. Later we watched highlights to see what the NFL is going to do to Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf after he punched a fan and we're all, 'Wait, what? They DQed the TD? And then DQed another TD. The Steelers won? WTF?!' Both calls were legit, BTW.

We nodded off before the Pats took care of the Ravens last night
