Good afternoon, combined joint Stroock's Books command.
Phase II of Trump's Gaza peace plan has begun, they say. We've no insights. We don't really care. As we write this the Israeli's continue their systematic demolition of buildings on their side of the yellow line. Critics say the Israelis have leveled 2500 buildings since the cease fire. We say you gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this business. That's what we care about.
More Hebrews...even a cursory reading of Israeli polls show Netanyahu and his coalition slowly rising. Likud would almost certainly win the most Knesset seats, and maybe as many as 35 (which some polls show). President Herzog would almost certainly have to give Bibi first crack at forming a government. More evidence that Bibi has the momentum, via JNS, 'Leading Israeli opposition figure MK Benny Gantz said on Monday that he would not rule out joining a unity government...' Hahahah-Ahhhhaha! Gantz wants the rest of the opposition to go along.*
Sports wrap: So, 25 years ago today the Giants trounced the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game 41-0. Nobody really believed in the Giants, and the Vikings were every sports pundit's darling because Rush Limbaugh (PBUH) was right. That was a good Giants team. And a fun season. The 41-0 victory was probably the greatest moment in Giants Stadium history. Enjoy the highlights....
The Giants came in force. The Vikings came in uniform, and looked completely unprepared. They were down 7 nothing when the got off the bus. The game was a rout from the get go. We blinked and the Giants were up 14-0. We vividly recall watching that game....and now here we are, 25 years later. Remarkable.
What Will's Watching: Best Medicine. It was right there on Hulu, and after seeing ads for Best Medicine half a dozen times (at least) watching the NFL, we figured, why not? Grumpy big city doctor takes job in bucolic seaside town. Love interest is a local girl who came home after the city rat race, fell back in love with old boyfriend [What is this a Hallmark Christmas movie?-Ed] I know, right - and then dumps him at the altar. The love interest is the just pretty enough self-insert for all the gals out there. We'd do her. We counted at least three gay characters, including a mixed married couple. Double points there, we guess. Every character tried to be interesting or weird and sweet and manic...Were we not entertained? So far, 3/4, but we're not optimistic.
DOGE report.
What can we say? Same.
We are reading through. How do we do it? Because we hate the read through, we're reading through one scene at a time. That is, we read a scene. Go put the laundry in. Read a scene, do the dishes. Read a scene, go take our 'Take these and your heart won't explode pills'. The readership will get the idea.
Is the readthrough worthwhile? Absolutely. We're finding little typos, continuity errors, etc etc. It takes a lot of work to get a book to print. Necessary. We hate it. We do hate it so. [But you have people -Ed]. Yes, we have very good people. And one still must needs put the last set of eyes upon one's MS.
*Bibi could then screw Ben Gvir and Smotrich and ram through a Haredi draft bill. The quicker those two are out of government, the better. Don't feel bad for Ben Gvir and Smotrich. They made a deal with Bibi. Never make a deal with Bibi. Just ask Gantz!
