An interesting and rough hour on the treadmill yesterday. We were just dying till we realized that the incline was up a couple points. What the what? We toughed it out though.

We had plans. God laughed at those plans. Then he turned to Thor and said, 'Get a load of this.' Thor drank his mead, nodded and said, 'Fool'. At the next table over the Lords of Kobol all laughed. 

It's time to face reality after another day of frustration with The Final Storm. At the moment there's no there there. Meanwhile we read through a good chunk of Salvation '76's Alaska Pipeline chapter and came away pleased. Discipline is one thing, common sense is another. It comes down to the best use of time and right now time is best used with '76.

So right now we'll push on through '76. We can probbaly read through what we have by 1 May.

An interesting review:

To be honest we wince when we think of that 'Oley five one stuff'. We knew we would when we wrote it. But it worked on its own level and we wanted to do it. When you see a review like that, it makes it worthwhile. Anyone else remember the Haka chanting Kiwis in ANZACs?

This article by Dov Fischer is about the Anti-Defamation League, but there's long background about the Jewish experience in America. Here's an interesting bit about older, Western European Jews and new arrivals from Eastern Europe:  'On a deeper level, the landed and assimilated German-American Jews desperately raced to rid the immigrants of their religious beliefs and values that made them seem so “different.” So they worked feverishly to assimilate the East European arrivals. Julia Richman, the superintendent of the New York City public schools in the Lower East Side, gave teachers orders to grab any child heard speaking Yiddish in the school hallways and to wash the child’s mouth out with soap. Minnie Lewis stood on street corners, offering children free cookies if they would let her cut their extended sideburns. Efforts were made to convert the young immigrant generation from their parents’ religious Orthodoxy to Reform Judaism, a theology akin to Unitarianism, where pork is eaten and intermarriage is boasted....It really was quite love-hate. The German Jews built Jewish hospitals like Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City because Jewish doctors still were being barred from practicing elsewhere. And yet those same Jews then initially barred the children of East European immigrants from practicing at Mount Sinai.'

We can personally vouch for this. Our grandfather's grandfather (Jacob F. Loeb)* used to stand at the door of his synagogue and turn away attendees with Eastern European names. And if a Jewish girl brought a date with a name like Lipshitz or Krasovksy... I hate Yiddish. Stroocks are nice, respectable German Jews, financiers, lawyers**, linen manufactures and the like. Mrs. Stroock is Lithuanian Jew. We're talking real Fiddler on the Roof type Jews. Jacob Loeb would not have approved.

Here's the synagogue, Temple Emanu-El, Midtown, Manhattan, across the street from Central Park. Our great, great Grandfather  helped build the thing. Later our grandfather bought the old pews. Jesus, Holy Moses and Holy Cow, we don't know what that cost, but we assure reader(s) it wasn't cheap. Have a look around. We attended some High Holy Day services with our grandfather there. It's a grand old sanctuary.

The ADL says Hello!

The Anti-Defamation League wants us all to know that it is jarred. Absolutely jarred. 

Here is the unsigned email response sent from the ADL to our query about Bill Clinton hanging out with three notorious haters of Jews:

“It was absolutely jarring to see one America’s leading purveyors of anti-Semitism given a place of such prominence at Aretha’s funeral,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League. "We join the country in mourning the Queen of Soul but this was an honor that an unapologetic hatemonger like Farrakhan didn't deserve."

I replied, 'What about Sharpton and Jackson?'

We have received no response.

ADL Two: HEAT Map Bugaloo

We have heard nothing from the Anti-Defamation League about

Bill Clinton sharing the stage with three notorious Jew Haters.

Hate doesn't take the weekend off, but the ADL does.

Anyway, we discovered the ADL's handy-dandy H.E.A.T. map (Hate, Extremism, Anti-Semitism and Terrorism).

Naively we expected a click to take us to say, Ramallah, or Tehran. But no. The ADL's Hate, Extremism, Anti-Semitism and Terrorism map allows us normal Americans to uncover hate in our very own neighborhood.

Simply enter your town and see! We did.

Once again the ADL did not disappoint.

Our very own Bridgewater had one incidence of extremism and an incidence of anti-Semitism. Read it and weep, Bridgewater:

You see, an organization called Identity Europa has been passing out flyers in Bridgewater, and also in neighboring Branchburg, Somerville, and Bedminster; the home of Trump National. Out of curiosity we clicked on the Bedminster incident to see if the ADL is counting Trump National itself as a hate crime. They aren't. But most disturbingly the ADL notes, 'Swastikas and anti-Semitic graffiti' were found in a middle school bathroom.

Last year it was Kristallnacht outside Trump National.

In vein we entered 'Cairo, Egypt' but got nothing. We did get a hit for Cairo, Georgia and found that a middle-school student was the 'victim' of taunting and such.

It's a regular Bergen-Belson in Cairo, Georgia.

Oddly there is no HEAT map reference for nearby Flemington NJ, home to a notorious man who tried to name their child Adolph Hitler. This guys still pops up in the news sometimes. Click over, he looks like he's from Flemington. We think we've even driven past his Nazi car a few times.

It's like getting off the train at Auschwitz.

Thank you ADL for not letting me down.

Israeli Nationalism

The Israeli Knesset has passed a Nation-State Law declaring the obvious: Israel is the Jewish State. The law recognizes Jewish holidays, declares Jerusalem is the capitol, and makes the Hebrew calendar the state calendar.

American Jewish groups are protesting of course:

The Anti-Defamation League on Thursday added its voice to a growing chorus of disapproval over Israel’s controversial Jewish nation-state law, saying the new legislation raises concerns about Israel’s commitment to its democratic nature, and calling for the law not to be used to discriminate against minorities.

“We are troubled by the fact that the law, which celebrates the fundamental Jewish nature of the state, raises significant questions about the government’s long-term commitment to its pluralistic identity and democratic nature,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO, and Carole Nuriel, Israel director of the watchdog group, in a statement.

Israel has absolutely no responsibility whatsoever to be 'pluralistic'. Israel has a responsibility to be Jewish. About 20% of Israel is Arab Muslim or Christian, with a smattering of Druze.

The ADL and other leftwing Jewish groups have elevated the values of 'diversity' and such above Judaism and Israeli nationalism.

So we see the uselessness of American Jewish organizations like the ADL.

The ADL is Decadent and Depraved

So the terminally useless Anti-Defamation League has released a hit list of Alt-Right figures it doesn't like. On the list are people like Vox Day, Mike Cernovich and Gavin McInnes....oh and Milo!

We have loathed this organization since the early 2000's when Abe Foxman (convinced a Jew hater lay under every bed) was pestering Mel Gibson about The Passion of the Christ and worrying about a few neo-Nazis holed up in upstate New York.

So I went to the ADL's website expecting to see them harping about things not relevant to Jews, like Mel Gibson.

I was not disappointed.

About half the site has articles dealing with Israeli stuff. Lemme break it to you there, Abe, or whoever is running the ADL extortion ring, the Israelis don't need you. They have the IDF.

As of this writing we see pieces on 'How to be an Ally', on helping Mexicans report hate crimes, and something about gay love. You guys check the Torah lately for its thoughts on sodomy?

Look, whatever the ADL may once have been, now it is a converged social justice pressure group and a jobs platform for hyper-educated SJWs. Check it out on Linkedin. We see dozens of employees with vaguely defined white collar information jobs like the 'specialist' for this  and the 'coordinator' for that. I doubt any of these people could change a tire.

What will the ADL do when one of the people on their hit list gets shot? Heck of a law suit.

Somehow I think they have plenty of legal council.
