Democrats Chose War...and Lost

When we heard Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed*, we didn't think the GOP would try to confirm a new judge and our gut told us they shouldn't.  But within hours Mitch McConnell declared the senate would vote on RBG's replacement before the election. Senator McConnel ain't called Cocaine Mitch for nothing, folks.

Here we are predicting the ACB confirmation battle would end not with a bang but a whimper. It wasn't possible for the Dems to top the Brett Kavanaugh fiasco, the laws of physics just won't allow it.  When Will Stroock says something will happen it is because that thing will happen. 

Honestly the ACB confirmation didn't even end in a whimper. When Justice Kavanaugh was conformed, a coven of shrieking, un-fuckable harpies took over the senate gallery. Even after the Capital Police removed them, these lovely ladies moaned and wailed and banged on the gallery doors like the feminist un-dead. These gals must have great home lives.

Bork, Thomas, Estrada, the Kavanaugh circus... When Mitch McConnel said Harry Reid would regret eliminating the judicial filibuster for lower court nominees, he wasn't kidding. The ACB nomination and confirmation was an act of revenge, an act of comeuppance. 

After thirty years of Supreme Court confirmation battles from Robert Bork to Amy Coney Barrett, the war's over, McConnell dropped the big one. Oh, and Justice Stephen Breyer is 82. We wonder who Trump will nominate to replace him.

*Over our first late night Arturo Fuente and glass of Shackleton in a month.

We are reminded of the great Kahn's words after the Kazakh king beheaded his emissary: You have chosen war.

Our first thought upon hearing of RBG's death was to wait. But we drank our wine, chewed on our cigar, heard Mitch McConnell's vow that the president's nominee would receive a vote on the senate floor and thought, fuck yeah. 

These are not our rules. Bork, Thomas, Estrada (who won't even be in the same room with Chuck Schumer) and the Dems vile, evil campaign against Kavanaugh...no....hell no.  Here's a shot of Brett Kavanaugh's wife as they accuse her husband of being a satanic rapist. If reader(s) do nothing else, click it. Dirty Harry Reid eliminated the filibuster for lower court nominees. If the Dems can impeach Trump during an election year than Trump can fill a Supreme Court vacancy during same.

If they win the senate, the Dems have promised to eliminate the filibuster altogether and pack the court.

This is no time for norms, magnanimity and anything other than crushing the Dems. 

Trump should nominate the talented and angelic Amy Coney Barrett. Suburbanite women will watch the Dems savage her. Oh, and Catholics will see this shameful exchange.

The night RBG died thousands gathered outside the Supreme Court in mourning. Last year at our own synagogue someone offered a prayer for her health. Who are these weirdos?  Twitter blue checkmarks are promising to shut down the country, they vow to 'burn it all down' should Trump go through with a nomination. Sorry, how does that differ from what we see in Portland, or Minneapolis, or Seattle, or Kenosha or....Now they're really mad? Really? 

Sorry, yeah no. We've seen your worst and are ready. The coming Supreme Court fight will end in a GOP victory, with a whimper not a bang.

This week whoever runs RBG's social calendar cancelled yesterday's 'An evening with Ruth Bader Ginsburg'.

Pretty soon, not whoops.

As it happens, in her youth RBG was kinda cute. We just want to break off a piece of that sweet, Yiddish candy.

With any luck she'll be replaced by Judge Amy Comey Barnett. The mother of seven is an angelic vision.

Supreme Picks...

The short list of Trump's possible supreme court pick is out. The first name that intrigues us is Judge Amy Cony Barrett.

Judge Barrett is already in the news. Last year during her confirmation hearing to a lower court, Democrats blasted Judge Barrett's Catholicism. Senator Dianne Feinstein, the second worst Jew in America*, told then Professor Barrett 'the dogma lives loudly within you'. Indeed it does. Judge Barrett is a member of a devout Catholic religious organization and has, count 'em, seven kids.

Of course Democrats are impervious to arguments that bashing Judge Barrett's Catholicism might look bad in swing states like Michigan and Pennsylvania. For this reason alone we'd like Trump to nominate Judge Barrett to the high court.**

Then there is dark horse candidate Amul Thapar. 

Long time readers of this blog know we live in Chindia.

We think nominating Judge Thapar provides an excellent opportunity to show Indian and Asian Americans just how much the left hates them. Recall that Harvard and other top schools are going to enormous trouble to limit Indian and Asian enrollment, as is Mayor Bill De Blasio with NYC's top high schools. Indian and Asian Americans are a walking refutation of everything the left says about America, and the left hates them for that.
