Israelis eat Breakfast 300 Yards...

...From a hundred million Arabs who want to kill them.

Ynet tells us of the chasm between American Jews and Israeli Jews:

The survey of the American Jewish Committee showed 77 percent of Israelis approved of the president's handling of US-Israel relations, while only 34 percent of American Jews did. Fifty-seven percent of US Jews disapproved, while only 10 percent of Israelis did.

This should surprise no one. Israelis have become a hyper-nationalist lot where everybody serves in the military and each generation has its war. They've fought five conflicts in the last 15 years and live with the constant threat of rocket and missile attack. The Israeli left staked everything on the so called 'Peace Process'. of the 90's. They failed spectacularly and the great Israeli Labour party, once the nation's natural ruling party, is a rotting husk. The political contest in Israel is between the center and the right. Essentially in Israel there is no left. Also, there are over 1 million Russian Jews living in Israel. They may be Jews, but they are still Russians. So they believe the solution to a foreign problem is to find problem and crush it beneath treads of tanks.*

American Jews tend to be the roly-polly sort. Earnest liberals, mostly secular. Israel and Netanyahu can be embarrassing. These people loved the so called 'Peace Process'. American Jews are kitschy and guilt ridden, almost ashamed that Israel wins wars. Ezra Levant does a fine job describing them here:

One should think back to A Few Good Men. American Jews are the roly-poly prosecutor Sam Weinberg**, who just doesn't get it. Israelis are Jack Nicholson.
