A Cold but not Cold in Chindia

Baaaah...we swipe at the air. We've had a minor but nagging cold these last few days and woke up annoyed.

Indian summer remains here in Chindia. As we write the temperature is 55 degrees. [Don't go into your Fahrenheit schtick again-Ed] Okay, okay. But that's 55 Fahrenheit. [Yes because 55 C means you're burnt to a crisp-Ed]. Okay,  131 F. Wow.  But are we talking about a dry heat?

Trump won the Michigan primary, yawn. This blog sure hopes you MAGA holdouts know what the hell you're doing. Don't get us wrong, we'd rather lose with Trump then win with Haley. We sigh, think of DeSantis, and wonder what might have been. Related: would Don Jr. please stop texting us?

Yesterday's Israeli municipal elections saw depressed turnout, not surprising. We await expert analyses, as we've no read on the results. Note, it takes about 24 hours for final results to be known as mail in 'double envelope' votes are counted the day after polls closed. This is as proscribed by law, not fiat.

We read through the Tromso counterattack chapter again yesterday. The chapter is articulated AF now. We heroically advanced to the Swedish intermission chapter and are pleased with what we read. Honestly, the Swedish chapter feels a bit abrupt. But our sense is that we've written what we've written and at some point one must needs declare, 'There I said it,' and step back so the work can join the literary pantheon.

Reader Unkown comments that he really liked the submarine chapter in To Defend the Earth. We read that wistfully. We had ideas. We had a universe. To Liberate Mars. Something where humanity is fighting the Jai in the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Finally, an expedition to the Jai home world. Reader(s) know what the Hebrew god does when one plans.  Alas the readership did not like To Survive the Earth. The book rates fine, but not enough people ever purchased. The latest review came in 2021. We admit that thinking about the project just now, we feel a bit of juju. Just a wee bit. Summer?
