Make a Sitcom out of This Office

We've noted before that nothing ages worse than a sitcom. Via Breitbart, Steve Carrell doubts if The Office could be made today:
The climate’s different. I mean, the whole idea of that character, Michael Scott, so much of it was predicated on inappropriate behavior.
We watched The Office from the first episode to the last and enjoyed it for years in syndication.

The show was about mediocre people in awkward situations, most of them created by uber-boss Michael Scott. Professional, interpersonal, romantic, sexual, racial, Scott could make any situation uncomfortable as hell.

We'd gone a few years without watching The Office  and picked it up again last month. Frankly, we're finding it hard to watch now.

The Office's most interesting story arc was that of Dwight Kurt Schrute, the nerdy superhero wannabee who takes himself and everything he does too seriously. When the show begins Dwight is kind of a loser, but by the end he's a power broker and super-successful branch manager.
