Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith defeated Mike Espy in yesterday's Mississippi special election. The final tally was 54-46.
Robert Stacey McCain (PBUH) has some interesting thoughts on the race.
Hyde-Smith's was a clean, solid victory and should put to bed any talk of the Dems breaking into the south.
Alabama and Roy Moore was a yuuge anomaly. Democrat Stacey Abrams came close in the Georgia governor's race, gaining about 48 percent of the vote. Of course she did. This was an off year election with a minority candidate able to turn out the black vote. We suspect she'll win in Trump's second off year election of 2022.
A staggering 75% of white people voted against Abrams. Therein lies a yuuuuge problem for Dems. Abrams blames her loss on racism. This is a habit for Dems now. Already, as RSM points out, the media is calling the Mississippi senate election 'racially charged'-whatever that means. How is accusing white people of racism going to swing white voters? 'Vote for me, you racist,' does not seem likely to win over white votes.
Anyway, we have a senate that with 53 Republican seats. While San Fran Nan wastes everyone's time with House investigations nobody cares about, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has all the maneuvering room he needs.
Cocaine Mitch snorts coke and confirms judges. He's all out of coke.
Racial charge my ass living just north of Mississippi people where more worried whether they were ole miss or state fans than racial reasons
