The Confederate Contingent wondered why Chattanooga would survive a full-on nuclear attack. For the record everything else in Tennessee gets hit.
Some time ago we were talking to a fellow North American about just how much and what gets nuked, and he pointed out that America is huge and decentralized. He argued that it'd be pretty tough for the Soviets to nail everything. There'd be strikes, second strikes, etc, etc and after they launched their first strike we'd launch a strike that would take out as much of their remaining nukes as possible.
Soviet stuff is crap. When a career armored guy beta red Nederland for us, he said he didn't see how a man could leap onto a Soviet tank and bash the hatch open with a hammer. He remarked, 'That'd have to be the last tank made on a Friday.' to which we replied, 'In Soviet Union, everything was the last thing made on a Friday.' So maybe the ICBM meant for Chattanooga malfunctioned and nuked a bunch of Inuit.*
Or maybe they'd just miss.
*That sentence is a hate crime in Canada, no?
