Whither Temple Ner Tamid, Whither Reform Judaism

We are not a religious Jew, not by any means. We tried it, the whole bag. Well not really. We tried going to weekly services, abiding by some laws, etc etc. We gave up pork for several years. It didn't take. Like a lot of things that didn't take with us, we became cynical and jaded about it. After a time we stopped trying. We thought, why bother?

Gentile readers, below is a video from Temple Ner Tamid, a Reform Synagogue here in New Jersey. For context, Reform Jews are the Yankee Protestants of the Jewish world. Ben Shapiro takes their measure here. He's Orthodox and we admire his dedication. Below is the reading of the Haftorah, the words of the prophets. Our oldest learned one for her bot Mitzvah. But instead of the words of the prophets, Rabbi Marc Katz and Cantor Meredith Greenberg have substituted the words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

You don't have to be a Torah scholar to know that this is some serious, AAA rated, top shelf, Edward G Robinson urging everyone to worship a golden calf, lightening coming down, earth opening up to swallow them level blasphemy.

Were we on the board of Temple Ner Tamid, our wife is on the board of our synagogue, we'd demand the resignation of Rabbi Marc Katz and Cantor Meredith Greenberg. Today.
