Monday Musings

The Jerusalem Post gives us a broad rundown of Israeli grand strategy against Iran and the current state of the undeclared war. Expect much more Israeli activity (they hit Damascus over the weekend). And expect to see more aggressive Israeli action in Iran. The Israelis are deeply concerned about Iranian drones. The Jews already have lasers. This blog wonders what wonder anti-drone weapons the Israelis have in their arsenal.

What Will's Watching, 2010, the Year we make Contact: 'Something's going to happen. Something wonderful.' If that doesn't give reader(s) chills, then what's this relationship all been for? Or how about, 'The Monolith, it's gone...'2010 is not only a better movie than 2001, it's also better science fiction. 2010 is more accessible, moves the plot better, and has much better characters. At times Roy Schieder comes off as a bit too cool for the project, but that's an 80's thing. The space sequences are gorgeous. The Cold War hangs over everything. A feeling of looming greatness permeates. 4/4

Today the Supreme Court will release rulings on at least one case. Will the court release their Dobbs ruling? What're they waiting for? The longer the court waits, the worse the security situation gets, and the more tensions simmer. Our guess is the court will sit on Dobbs today because Chief Justice John Roberts is naively trying to preserve the court's comity and norms, or some such. John Roberts is a coward.  9:30 AM.

Monday Metal: We don't have anything new, but we are seeing Iron Maiden this autumn. So here's Revelations live on the 2008 tour. We saw Maiden twice on this tour, once that summer at the PNC Arts center, an outdoor venue here in New Jersey. It rained. There was thunder and later mist. Probably the best concert we've ever attended. Hey!:
