The Times of Israel reports Israel's Jewish population tops 7 million. Overall, there are 15.2 million Jews in the world, about the same number as 1938. Mrs. Stroock and I did our bit, +3ing the Jewish population. This is interesting, 'The other countries with the 10 largest Jewish populations were France (442,000), Canada (394,000), the United Kingdom (292,000), Argentina (173,000), Russia (145,000), Australia (118,200), Germany (118,000) and Brazil (91,000).' The other 6 million are in the United States.
Israel Radar says Prime Minister Lapid has convened the defence chiefs for a discussion about Hezbollah. With the Karish gas field going live, and increased Israeli activity in Syria, something is up.
Watching Penn State yesterday we saw a Dr, Oz ad. He slams Lurch on crime, really slams him. Good. Here in NJ07 every time one goes on YouTube or streams a game, one sees a Tom Kean ad slamming incumbent Tom Malinowski on inflation. Tom Kean is a nice guy, as was his dad, so the ads are pretty hard hitting for him. There's no recent polling on NJ07, here's some old polling. We also saw an ad from NY governor Kathy Hochul linking challenger Lee Zeldin to Trump, calling him an election denier and pro-life extremist. Stop making Zeldin sound awesome. Reminder, Trump won.
They keep trying to cancel Columbus Day in New Jersey with mixed results, changing the name, then removing all holiday names, then changing the names back. People have gotten upset. Even Governor Murphy has opined, '“These holidays exist as they do for a reason, and I’m on the side of keeping it the way it is,” Murphy said.' Smart man. This year the Bridgewater Raritan School District has added Diwali.
