Saturday Updates

Good Saturday morning, Stroock's Books continuum.

It looks like last night's Tyre Nichols protests were mostly raucous. The New York Post has the report. We wouldn't want to be stuck, but blocking traffic, while annoying, isn't the end of the world.  We'll see what happens tonight. We watched the police video. What the hell were the cops thinking? We mean, how did they think they could get away with it, you know, with the bodycams and all? And why can't five cops get one man into a pair of handcuffs? They sure as hell could write the traffic ticket.

Meanwhile a West Bank Person shot up a Jerusalem synagogue, murdering 8. West Bank People celebrated. There was another shooting this morning. As this blog has said, watch Judea/Samaria. Reminder, avoid use of the term 'Palestinian'. This is a white supremacist construct, invented by Hitler and the grand mufti of Jerusalem. There are and were no 'Palestinians', prior to the state of Israel, just disparate Arab tribes.

We have pondered, and shall ponder some more, how to expand the audience, sell more books and make more money. Every lane we've taken leads to a traffic jam. Dropping our books into Twitter hashtags gets us a new reader or two, but that's it. We don't believe advertising is useful. The best we can come up with is what we already know. Write more books, grow the backlist.

The things.

19FortyFive is republishing our old What If? articles and want more. The editor swears the piece we sent last week will be out, 'Soon'. How long is a soon? The editor also wants a Trump piece from us, oy [Hey, find a need and fill it-Ed]. True. And they want more What Ifs? from us too. This morning we got nuthin'. We shall dwell upon this.

We had an excellent week with World War 1990: The Final Storm. We worked on the Australia/Pacific chapter and concluded it needs to be bigger. We need a USS George Washington CiC POV to bring the entire Soviet Far East campaign together.  We shall spend next week working on just that. We might need to revisit some previous scenes in the Soviet Far East.

We also had a good week with The New American Order. We are almost done with the readthrough of the printout and could probably finish it this weekend if we really wanted to do so. We've figured out a few things to add and a few improvements to make. Overall we're quite pleased. The New American Order is better than The Salvation of 1976. We'll spend February working on the MS and then on to the editor.

We've spent some mental energy on World War 1990: Norway and are working out how the first chapter will go. We'll begin work on Monday.  We intend to proceed slowly and carefully.

  1. Living and working here in Memphis I think the national media is blowing the protests out of proportion it really wasn't that bad and the rumor here in Memphis this all started over a woman one of the cops and the guy who died were messing around with the same woman

  2. We the city of Memphis gets a bad rap sometimes the people here are pissed at what happened but also we realized destroying our city is not the way to go what has lots of US worried is the people coming in from out of town to protest and something that kept the city calm last night was the mother of the man who was killed came on and gave a passionate plea not to conduct senseless violence in her son's name she is a better person than me because if it had been my son I would of lead the stroming of 201 and the mayor office

  3. Regarding the first comment. That makes sense what was shown on the video was way much than the actions of a traffic stop. I figured he was someone who the police knew in the video and it looked like they were getting back at him. I feel for your town, you are way underserved by your Mayor and Chief of Police.
