Will Frets on a Friday, says Fek

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Stroock's Books would much rather remember how the Israelis kicked the shit out of the Arabs again and again. Israel needs Ariel Sharon Day, the greatest Jewish warrior since Joshua. Anyway, once again, here's the Israeli Air Force overflying Auschwitz. Remember the eventual fate of all enemies of the Jews:

The Jerusalem Post runs an editorial in favor of Prime Minister Netanyahu's plan to reform the Supreme Court. This has brought raucous protest from the Israeli elite. If these people hate the plan, it's probably a good idea. The Post says the court is out of touch and unaccountable. Here's Ben Shapiro on Bibi's reforms.

We listened to a long panel discussion yesterday in which highly successful authors talked about marketing and selling books. We didn't hear anything that we already know or thought wouldn't work. Yes, yes, the importance of reviews, gotcha. Sales are spiking the last three days for no reason we can discern.

Meanwhile, we see all these writers on Twitter bragging about number of book queries, query statuses, lamenting rejections, etc etc. We did it. Back in the 2000s. When Braden Publishing returned a query we sent in 2006...in 2009, we said, 'Damn it all. We'll do it ourselves.'

We might have a podcast interview set up, part of our never-ending quest to find ways to expand the readership. Also, we'd like to appear on podcasts.

So yesterday we were discussing ChatGPT with fellow author Adam Yoshida. The AI gave him long, detailed answers to questions like, 'What are the 10 fastest ships in Star Fleet?' We asked ChatGPT what's the terminal velocity of a swallow. It replied, 'The terminal velocity of a European swallow (Hirundo rustica) is approximately 11 meters per second (or 24 miles per hour). This refers to the maximum speed at which the bird can fall through the air without increasing its velocity. The terminal velocity of a bird can be affected by factors such as its size, weight, and wing shape.'

We have no idea what this means. We do note that Buzzfeed announced it's going to use AI to write some stories. Anything that puts Buzzfeed and MSM journalists out of work is a good thing. Thoughts and prayers. This probably means that AI will one day end our 800-word news article gig. We're pretty sure AI won't end our novel writing career. We're still us, after all. Right now, ChatGPT can't answer the question, 'Who is William Stroock?'

You know, it's occurred to us that there is no war/combat chapter in The New American Order like there is in 75 and 76. Huh. Stuff like this is what we find fascinating, 'In fact Yuengling had started a delivery service where trucks would drive out from the Pottsville brewery loaded with kegs of beer. People would fill empty bottles form the back of the brewery trucks.' Always have.
